CREW LEADER

The Crew Leader is a permanent full-time position. The physical requirements of this position include being able to carry a 40 lb. backpack sprayer for up to 10 hours/day and working in difficult conditions due to vegetation and topography. Work with herbicides and brush cutters is typical. Some chainsaw work is also required. This job requires flexibility in the work week as weather dictates work schedule. Travel is a regular part of the job and some projects require overnight stays up to 1 week in length. 

Educational requirements include an associates or bachelor’s degree in biology or related field. Previous substantial field experience in this area of work is an acceptable alternative to educational requirements. Experience as a crew leader is important. Possession of a current pesticide applicator license is a plus. Applicants must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have valid driver’s license. 

Expected hours/week: 40-50 

Start Date: Negotiable. Immediately to no later than March 30, 2024 

Starting pay rate: Starting pay range $20-$25/hour depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include paid time off, health insurance, and field stipend.
